SAN ANTONIO – Bass Pro Shops made a donation to the Salvation Army to encourage children to experience the outdoors.
The outdoor superstore gave 100 rods and reels to the nonprofit at its store at The Rim Thursday afternoon.

The founder of Bass Pro Shops challenged families to get outside and discover the fun of fishing.
In all, the company is donating 40,000 rods and reels to nonprofit groups so kids from all backgrounds can connect with the outdoors.
