The center, located one block from the main jail at 222 S. Comal, will be the new location to visit inmates.

The first day for video visitation is scheduled for Sept. 3.

Visitors must register for an account before visiting inmates via video. Registration can be done online or at the video visitation center starting Saturday.

In-person jail visits will gradually be phased out. By mid-November, all visits will be conducted via video, officials said.
