Bexar County Sheriff Susan Pamerleau is now a licensed Texas peace officer.

According to a BCSO news release, Pamerleau passed the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Peace Officer exam earlier this week.

Pamerleau was not required to be a peace officer while she ran for sheriff, but she did have to earn her license within her first two years in office, the release said.

In an effort to better understand the responsibilities of other members of her staff, Pamerleau also plans to get a Texas jailer's license and a law enforcement telecommunications (dispatch) license.
