SAN ANTONIO -

Bill Sinkin, one of San Antonio's most prominent community and business leaders, has passed away at the age of 100.

The San Antonio Express-News reported Sinkin died Monday. Sinkin was a successful banker, entrepreneur, philanthropist and activist for equality, international business and alternative energy in the Alamo City.

Sinkin is credited with leading the charge to bring the HemisFair to San Antonio in 1968 and was the fair's first president.

Sinkin hosted the first major solar installations on the rooftop of his bank in the 1980s and also founded Solar San Antonio in 1999. 

Funeral arrangements had not been announced as of Monday evening.
