Police are investigating a bizarre death after people at a northeast side home found a body in their backyard.

Officers went to the home in the 3800 block of Deerfield just after 10 a.m. Sunday to check on the body call.

When they got there they immediately determined this was not a natural death.

Police could not determine whether someone had dumped the body in that yard, or if it had been thrown over the retaining wall by impact with a car.

They later said the victim had been struck by a car and his body knocked over the wall between the yard and the Loop 410 access.

Police say they're now trying to determine whether a drunk driving arrest near that site last night could be connected.

They say the victim had impact trauma so severe it was impossible to make any identification.
