Boy ejected from car during crash, lands on Interstate 10
San Antonio police: Child conscious and breathing after crash in Cibolo
A child was ejected from a car along Interstate 10 westbound near Trainer Hale Road in Cibolo Wednesday.
Around 5:30 p.m., the driver of the car, who police believe is the child's mother, lost control of the vehicle.
The car crossed the center median and careened into oncoming traffic hitting a silver pick-up truck.
The child was thrown from the car and landed on the highway.
Cibolo police say vehicles traveling behind the silver pickup had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting the boy.
The child suffered several cuts to his head but was conscious and breathing before he was airlifted to University Hospital. The boy's mother was treated by EMS.
One male was inside the pickup and was trapped for 30-40 minutes until fire crews could free him from the wreckage.
He was taken to a hospital by ambulance. It's unclear what caused the female driver to lose control.
