SAN ANTONIO -

Burning trash is to blame for a house fire in far south Bexar County.

The fire broke out Monday afternoon just after 5:30 p.m. along Loma Verde.

Bexar County fire officials said the trash was being burned on a property when the fire spread to a nearby mobile home.

Seven area fire departments and two dozen firefighters responded to the fire.

The mobile home is considered a total loss, but no one was hurt because the home was being used for storage, fire officials said.

At the time of the fire, Bexar County was not under a burn ban in Bexar County so fire officials said the trash burning was legal.
