The San Antonio Humane Society held their annual “Paws on the Patio” fundraiser on Monday, allowing owners and their dogs an opportunity to dress in costume, and enjoy a special Halloween-themed meal.  Canyon Café, who has hosted the event for 11 years, again transformed part of their parking lot, into an outdoor restaurant for pets.

"We're so excited, we've been waiting for this day, it's finally here,” said Shannon Busick, manager of Canyon Café.  “We've got some great food that we're serving, it's going to be a great time.”

Proceeds from each $12 doggie dinner went directly to the San Antonio Humane Society.

“It's great when you have restaurants like Canyon Café, who open up their outdoor areas to enjoy a meal with the full family, four legs included,” said Seamus Nelson, spokesman for the Humane Society.

The San Antonio Humane Society is a non-profit, no-kill organization, serving the Bexar County area.
