Several neighbors in the 3300 block of Cato, a quiet street on the Southeast Side off Goliad Road, noticed the car Thursday morning.

"Other times, cars have been parked there. We have a lot of neighbors who have gatherings, and people park their cars, but they're gone the next day," said Grace Nadin. "This one was just here all day, and the windows appeared to be open, and it had a wreck in the front, so it was kind of suspicious."

Nadin's husband called police Friday morning to report the car. They confirmed it belonged to O'Neill.

O'Neill, 46, was making a delivery Wednesday night on the Northwest Side in the 6000 block of De Zavala.

He left his car running while dropping off the order, and someone was in the driver's seat when he returned, San Antonio police said.

Police believe O'Neill attempted to stop the robber, but the man ran him over during his getaway.

O'Neill was transported to University Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

If caught, San Antonio police said the robber, believed to be in his late 20s, would be charged with capital murder.
