SAN ANTONIO -

A car was struck by a train Sunday evening after it got stuck on some railroad tracks in southwest Bexar County.

The crash occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the tracks on Quintana and Old Quintana Road.

Bexar County sheriff's deputies said the car was crossing the tracks when it got stuck and the occupants ran out of the vehicle when they saw the train headed their way.

The train smashed into the car and pushed it about a quarter mile before it came to a stop.

No injuries were reported. Crews remained at the scene for a few hours to clean up the wreckage.
