Brigette Rodriguez, 44, suspected of shoplifting at a Castle Hills bookstore in July, has been arrested.

An arrest warrant affidavit states that Castle Hills police began looking for her after the incident July 29 at Unlimited Thoughts Bookstore.

An employee told officers that he stopped Rodriguez outside the bookstore, in the 5500 block of Blanco Road, after she left the business with some statues that she had not purchased, the affidavit stated.

The worker told police that although he managed to get most of the merchandise back, Rodriguez escaped after climbing into a waiting car.

Police later stopped a vehicle matching the description, and the driver denied any knowledge of the incident, the affidavit stated.

The woman, however, was able to direct officers to an apartment complex on Jackson Keller Road where Rodriguez lives, the affidavit stated.

Rodriguez, who’s also known as Brigette Martinez, was taken into custody Wednesday and booked into the Bexar County jail.
