Charges likely to be upgraded after 4-month-old baby's death

Ignacio Rodriguez, 30, behind bars on $500,000 bail

SAN ANTONIO – The man arrested in connection to the death of a 4-month-old baby will likely face a capital murder charge.

When EMS crew arrived at a home in the 100 block of Menlo Street they found Ignacio Rodriguez unresponsive, but were able to revive him.

He was taken to a hospital and placed on life support but died on Tuesday from severe bleeding of the brain.

Police arrested Ignacio Rodriguez, 30, in connection with his death. Investigators have yet to release the relationship between the baby and the man.

Rodriguez’s bond has been set at $500,000.

Police said Tuesday they are working with the District Attorney’s Office to upgrade the charges from injury to a child to capital murder.
