SAN ANTONIO -

On Jan. 4, 5, 11 and 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. residents can drop off their fresh-cut trees at one of 17 locations across the city to be recycled.

If a resident is unable to visit one of the sites, they may recycle their Christmas tree at the Bitters Brush Recycling Facility, located at 1800 Bitters Road, or the Nelson Gardens Brush Recycling Facility, located at 8963 Nelson Road, through the end of Jan. during their regular business hours.

Be sure to prepare the tree for recycling by following these steps:

  • Strip the tree of all decorations, stands, nails and plastic wrapping
  • If the tree is longer than six feet, be sure to cut it in half
  • Flocked trees can also be recycled at the drop-off locations
