A cold front sliding its way south from Canada will reach South and Central Texas late Tuesday afternoon, says KSAT 12 Meteorologist Mike Osterhage.

In the wake of front, unseasonably cold temperatures can be expected.

"It's the coldest front of the season," Osterhage says. "We'll see freezing temperatures in the Hill Country and mid-to-upper-30s here in town."

Mike says "Bring your coat" on Wednesday, as highs won't make it out of the 50s.

Another cold night is expected Wednesday and low temperatures will once again drop to near or just below freezing across a larger area Thursday morning, especially in the Hill Country and low-lying spots along the I-35 corridor, with mid 30s to lower 40s elsewhere.

However, warmer temperatures are expected to return by this weekend.
