A man wanted for attempted murder in Colorado was tracked down and arrested at a south San Antonio home.
Mario Andreas Godinez, 20, was taken into custody Tuesday by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
According to a U.S. Marshals press release, an arrest warrant was issued for Godinez in September by the Weld County Sheriff's Office in Greeley, Colo., on charges involving attempted murder.
Lone Star task Force officers began their investigation into locating Godinez last month and determined that he fled from Greeley and was hiding out at a home in the 1500 block of Yellow Sky in San Antonio.
Task force officers made contact with the homeowner, identified themselves, and took Godinez into custody without incident, the release stated.
Godinez and two other subjects were allegedly involved in an attempted home invasion in Greeley in 2012. Godinez is also accused of firing shots through the front door when entry into the home was unsuccessful, the release stated.
All three subjects fled in an unknown vehicle, but Godinez left one of his shoes behind.
Godinez is a confirmed gang member and was currently being held at the Bexar County Jail awaiting extradition to Weld County, the release stated.
