NEW BRAUNFELS – Comal County Judge Sherman Krause has ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff in honor and memory of the 13 people killed in Wednesday’s bus crash.

The flags will remain at half-staff until sundown on Sunday.
“Our hearts go out to our friends and neighbors affected by this tragedy,” Krause said. “First Baptist Church and its members are in our thoughts and prayers.”

The order is in effect for all Comal County properties; however, it also encourages other property owners to do the same.
The City of New Braunfels also ordered its facilities to lower flags to half-staff through Sunday.
“The City of New Braunfels respectfully requested this tribute from the office of the Governor and it was granted,” Mayor Barron Casteel said.
“The City Council and staff of City of New Braunfels offer their deepest condolences to the families and friends of the members of First Baptist Church who were lost and injured in the tragic traffic accident of March 29th. Our hearts are saddened by your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire church family. May you all be comforted by the outpouring of love from our community surrounding you during this difficult time,” Casteel said.
