Confidential information from Burbank, Edison high school seniors stolen

Information stolen from San Antonio Education Partnership employee's car

SAN ANTONIO – More than 600 students at Burbank and Edison high schools have had their confidential information stolen, the San Antonio Independent School District said.

The district said someone broke into a car belonging to an employee with the San Antonio Education Partnership. The district uses the partnership for scholarships.

Forms and a USB drive containing birthdays, Social Security numbers and addresses were stolen from seniors who attend the schools.

The incident has been reported to police, and the students were notified by the district Wednesday.

The San Antonio Education Partnership said that employee violated policy by having that information in her car. It said student privacy is a priority and is offering resources to those families affected.
