Keeping your lawn cut can be a chore.

So, Consumer Reports tested 45 mowers to find some that make the job a bit easier.

The easiest to use is the self-propelled mower. One with variable speeds is good for speeding across flat sections and slowing down for tough grass.

One feature to avoid, they say, is big wheels.

Consumer Reports found several good choices. the $400 self-propelled HOnda HRR2169VKA is a "Best Buy."

They also recommend the $330 Troy-Bilt TB-320 12AVC35U.
