A Converse woman is accused of beating her 7-year-old daughter in the face with a belt.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, the girl told police Victoria Mojica, 23, became upset with her for spilling nail polish and damaging some property that belongs to her aunt.

The affidavit stated that the girl told a teacher and nurse at her elementary school last Tuesday after she went to class with bruises on her face.

School officials then notified Converse police, who also interviewed the child, the affidavit stated.

The girl told investigators that in addition to beating her, Mojica also pulled her hair, threw oatmeal across the room and sent her to bed without dinner, the affidavit stated.

The 7-year-old was taken into the custody of Child Protective Services, the affidavit stated.

Police obtained a warrant for Mojica’s arrest and she was taken into custody this past Tuesday on a charge of injury to a child.
