Corpus Christi gives thanks for help during water incident in big way

City launches billboard campaign to thank cities across Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Corpus Christi has launched a two-week advertising campaign to thank cities across the state for their help during a citywide water incident.

“We had water donations large and small come from all over the state and even outside the state and it this was a small gesture that we could do to say, ‘Thank you,’” Paulette Kluge, Corpus Christi CVB CEO, said. “It was the right thing to do for these wonderful people from these cities who stepped up during our city’s time of need.”

Kluge said San Antonio was particularly helpful as employees of the San Antonio Water System helped Corpus Christi water officials flush water lines, as well as provided a tanker truck of water that was used to keep dialysis machines at the Driscoll Children's Hospital going.

The digital billboard campaign features an image of the iconic Harbor Bridge and gives thanks to San Antonio, Rio Grande Valley, Austin, Houston and Dallas. There are billboards in 20 locations.
