County fire crews battled a brush fire Saturday that started around 4:15 p.m.
The fire started when a car caught fire near I-37 South and Mathis Road.
That fire then spread and county fire crews rushed to keep the flames from reaching nearby homes.
Firefighters estimated the fire torched about 20 acres.
One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation.
Three hours after the fire began, crews were still working to put out hot spots.
