SAN ANTONIO -

A couple robbed after stopping by a Northwest Side home on Baywater Drive to pick up a computer appears to have walked in on a home invasion in progress.

Dawn Moore and Pedro Rodriguez, both 38 years old, reported the robbery to San Antonio police around 12 a.m. Friday.

According to a police report, Moore told officers that she and Rodriguez drove to the home in the 7000 block of Baywater around 11 p.m. Thursday to pick up a computer that had been repaired by a man who lives there.

Moore said she remained in her car and saw a man with a gun pull Rodriguez inside the home after he knocked on the door, the report stated.

As she tried to climb into the driver’s seat, Moore said another gunman pulled her from the vehicle and also dragged her inside the home.

The report stated that the gunmen placed paper bags over the couple’s heads and robbed them, then placed them into a bedroom where four other people, including a child, were being held.

At some point later, the entire group escaped by climbing out a window, the report stated.

They then climbed into a red pickup and drove to a restaurant nearby, on the NW Loop 410 access road, and asked the manager to call police, the report stated.

When officers arrived, only Moore and Rodriguez remained.

Police said the four other people who were being held in the home, as well as the three gunmen, all had left the scene.

The report stated that another person told officers later where to find the child, but they were unable to locate the man who lives in the home and at least one woman.

Moore and Rodriguez told police their vehicle, a rental car, also is missing.
