A jury has sentenced a court-martial of an active-duty Air Force recruiter who previously pled guilty to engaging in or attempting to engage in unprofessional relationships.
A panel of officers, or jury, sentenced Sgt. Jaime Rodriguez to 27 years confinement, a dishonorable discharge, a reduction in rank to E-1 (Airman Basic) and forfeiture of all pay and allowances.
U.S. Air Force officials said in addition to previously pleading guilty to 16 specifications of engaging in or attempting to engage in unprofessional relationships, Rodriguez previously pled guilty to:
- Violating a no contact order, making a false official statement
- 2 specifications of adultery
- 2 specifications of obstructing justice; and
- 1 specification of consensual sodomy
Officials said Rodriguez was acquitted of rape and forcible sodomy. However, he was convicted of the lesser offenses of aggravated sexual assault, abusive sexual contact and non-forcible sodomy.
Authorities said Rodriguez was also convicted of aggravated sexual contact, wrongful sexual contact and indecent exposure.
