Man uses box cutter to rob Valero

Robber steals cigarettes from clerk

SAN ANTONIO – Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of robbing a Valero with a box cutter.

Police said a man walked into a Valero around 1:30 a.m. on April 24 at 7715 South Zarzamora St. and tried to buy some cigarettes.

The clerk told the man he was sorry that he couldn't sell him the cigarettes because he didn't have an ID, police said. The man told the clerk he was sorry, too, and pulled out a box cutter and demanded several packages of cigarettes.

The clerk gave the man the cigarettes and the man took off on a bicycle, police said.

Anyone who knows the identity of the man is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867).

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to the man's arrest.
