SAN ANTONIO -

A 33-year-old woman has extra trouble on her hands thanks to a Crime Stoppers report that aired on KSAT 12 News in December.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that San Antonio police originally were looking for Christine Jarussi, who also uses the name Christine Venegas, in connection with a series of thefts at a local mall.

Jarussi and her husband, John Anthony Jarussi, 35,  were accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars' worth of merchandise from stores including Toys R Us and Williams-Sonoma.

Police issued a Crime Stoppers bulletin Dec. 18, asking for the public's help in locating the pair.

The affidavit stated that the manager of a Santikos movie theater told police he saw the Crime Stoppers report on KSAT 12 News and identified Jarussi as the woman in the photos.

It stated that he also told police that Jarussi had visited his theater about 20 times during a one month period and used phony movie passes and coupons worth about $250.

Jarussi was arrested Thursday on a charge of theft stemming from the use of the phony movie passes. She and her husband also faces charges in connection with the mall thefts.
