KSAT Defenders investigate missing photos from Sears customer
Customers surprised to learn Sears, Walmart portrait studios were shut down
All portrait studios located inside Sears, Walmart and Babies “R” Us stores suddenly shut down, and that left a San Antonio woman wondering what happened to her pictures.
On March 16, Cynthia Servin paid roughly $130 for a photo package at the Sears at South Park Mall. She found out about the closure last Friday.
“I got on the website to check if my pictures were ready, and it said they were saddened to inform us that it had closed down,” she said.
She wondered where her pictures were and will she get her money back. Servin contacted Sears at South Park last Friday after reading about the closure.
“I called Sears and I asked if my pictures were there and they told me that they were, and when I showed up and spoke to the manager and they told me they didn’t have anything,” she said. “They didn’t know what happened.”
The Defenders contacted Sears corporate office and a company spokesman gave us an 800 number for Servin to call. She did and was told that all but one of her pictures were at the store and ready for pick up.
Servin went to Sears Tuesday and walked out with her photos.
Store employees told her the one missing photo was being shipped.
Servin says several other customers were inside the Sears portrait studio Tuesday to receive their photos and that some of them had received notification.
"I wish they would’ve called me and told me they were closing down and told me where to go,” said Servin. “I really had to come to you guys because I didn’t know what to do.”
