A Bexar County sheriff's deputy was injured when his patrol car was struck from behind on Interstate 10 around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
According to to a sheriff's office spokesman, the deputy was stopped to help a stranded motorist at I-10 and UTSA Boulevard.
The deputy had his emergency lights on when he was struck.
The deputy and the driver of the vehicle that hit him were both taken to Methodist Hospital in unknown conditions.
The stranded motorist was not injured, the spokesman said.
