Disturbance reported prior to apartment fire on NE Side

Apartment in 9500 block of Perrin Beitel evacuated

SAN ANTONIO – A disturbance between a couple early Tuesday morning may be connected to an apartment fire on the city's Northeast Side, officials said.

San Antonio police were called to investigate the disturbance around 3 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 9500 block of Perrin Beitel.

When officers arrived, a man who lived in the second-floor unit was gone, police said.

Three hours later, firefighters were called to the apartment building, fire officials said.

The building was evacuated.

Arson investigators were called to look into the cause.

No one was injured.

A damage estimate wasn't immediately available.
