DPS turns to public for leads into 2007 Fredericksburg slaying

Linda Muegge found dead in her burning home

AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking the public for help in solving the 2007 slaying of a 55-year-old Fredericksburg woman.

According to investigators, Linda Muegge was found dead in her home on Franklin Street after neighbors reported a fire on May 14, 2007.

An autopsy determined that Muegge, the owner of The Peasant Kitchen catering business, died of blunt force trauma.

A reward of up to $6,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the crime if the tip is received before next month's featured case is announced. Tips can be called in to the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477) or the DPS Missing Persons Hotline at 1-800-346-3243.

Tipsters also can submit information through the Texas Ranger Cold Case website.

The Gillespie County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000.
