SAN ANTONIO – A driver is facing charges after leading deputies on a vehicle chase overnight, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

The chase began around midnight when deputies clocked a driver going 100 miles per hour near Loop 410 and Ingram Road.

Deputies said the driver failed to stop so they followed him to Interstate 10 where he exited at Fresno Street.

The driver lost control and jumped a curb before hitting a tree and fence, deputies said.

The driver got out of the vehicle leaving his passenger behind.

Authorities caught the suspect hiding in a backyard, deputies said.
