SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police say a woman feel asleep at the wheel and crashed her car into a pole all while a 3-year-old child sat unrestrained in the back seat. The crash happened around 11:15 p.m. on the North Side. 

Officers say the driver, a woman in her 20s, was headed down West Avenue when she fell asleep, ran off the road and struck a pole at the intersection of Glen Ivy.

Both the child and woman were rushed to University Hospital with unknown injuries.

The woman was issued two citations. One for not having a license and the other for not having the child restrained.
