SAN ANTONIO -

A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after San Antonio police say he caused a 3-car crash on the North Side.

According to police, the man was driving a silver sedan along San Pedro Avenue when he ran a red light.

The DWI suspect then crashed into a car and that impact caused the car to spin into another vehicle. The third vehicle finally came to a stop when it crashed into a pole.

A female passenger riding with the DWI suspect was transported to University Hospital for treatment. The occupants of the third car were treated at the scene and no injuries were reported from the second car involved.

The driver of the silver sedan refused a field sobriety test and was arrested, police said.
