SAN ANTONIO -

The elderly man and woman killed in a fire late Monday night have been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.

Cecil Foster, 82, and his wife Josephine, 83, were unable to escape flames and smoke that broke out at a home in the 2000 block of Basse Road.

San Antonio firefighters responded but were unable to locate the couple as the flames intensified. The Fosters were later located in a hallway outside their bedroom, SAFD officials said.

Arson investigators ruled the fire accidental and said an electrical problem caused the flames. Damage was estimated at $60,000.
