The danger has passed in Wilson Co. and the flooding evacuation order has been lifted as the San Antonio River crested well below predictions.
County officials Saturday afternoon ordered the evacuation order for people living along the river from Elmendorf to Floresville.
People hurried from their homes as fears the river would crest rose.
County leaders said Weather Service data indicated that crest would come at 60 feet.
But by Sunday the river had crested at just over 52 feet and the dangers had passed.
A Red Cross shelter for evacuated residents set up in Floresville was closed.
