SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio arson investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire that damaged a home on the Northwest Side Monday night.

The blaze broke out just before 10:30 p.m. in the 7300 block of Cherrybrook Street.

Investigators believe the fire started in the garage. All four people inside the home were able to get out safely.

One of the homeowners tried to put out the flames with a garden hose, but was overwhelmed by smoke, fire officials said.

Paramedics were called to treat the man. A cause of the fire or damage estimates were unknown as 8 a.m. Tuesday.
