SAN ANTONIO -

A local family is asking for justice after a 20-year-old man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver who remains at-large.

According to family members, 20-year-old Paul Michael Hernandez was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon.

Police say Hernandez and his father were crossing the street when a driver ran a red light and hit Hernandez, knocking him 30 feet into a parking lot.

“I mean, come on man, what kind of a person would do that? Why wouldn't you stop?” said Hernandez’s brother-in-law, Joe Rodriguez, Jr.

Police say they're now searching for the driver who hit the victim as he attempted to cross an intersection at S. Flores and Southcross around 11 p.m. Saturday.

“We just want some justice," said Rodriguez. "We know that they have broken windshield and a broken light from the front."

Police are looking for a white, compact sedan with heavy front end damage and a possible broken windshield. Anyone with information is asked to call San Antonio police.
