Family still hopeful in search for missing woman

Bianca Jimenez disappeared July 18

SAN ANTONIO – Bianca Jimenez has been missing for more than two weeks, but her family said Monday that they have not given up hope that she will be found alive.

"I just want to find her and know that she is safe," said Bianca's father, Victor Jimenez.

The 28-year-old disappeared in the early morning hours of July 18.

Her family said she was at a bar the night before and went home with a man. When she arrived at her apartment in the 300 block of Adams Street in the King William Historic District, things turned violent.

According to her family, Jimenez's ex-boyfriend showed up and the two men got into a fight.

What happened next is unknown, but Bianca's mother, Mary, grew worried when her daughter did not show up for work. She went to her daughter's apartment to check on her.

"When I got there, her things were outside on the porch and there was blood on the inside and outside of the apartment," Mary said. "I just started calling her name."

Since that morning, the family has spent each day scouring Bexar County, looking for any signs of their daughter.

"I just get up every morning and take off randomly, not knowing where to start," said Victor Jimenez. "I just head out in certain areas and start looking under bridges, woods, everywhere we can think of."

Jimenez's parents said they've grown frustrated with police and have hired their own investigator. While the chances of finding their daughter alive grow slimmer with each passing day, the family is not giving up hope.

"Whatever is bothering her, if she has a problem, if she's gone to hide for some reason -- which I don't have any reason why she would do that -- we are here to support her," her mother said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Antonio Police Department or the Heidi Search Center at 210-650-0428.
