SAN ANTONIO -

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Bandera, Edwards, Kerr, Kinney, Medina, Real, Uvalde and Val Verde counties until 7 p.m. Friday.

Heavy rain may develop in the counties listed in the watch area. Average rainfall amounts are expected to be near 2 to 4 inches with isolated amounts near 6 inches possible during the day Friday.

If heavy rain falls, flash flooding may become an issue in low-lying areas and for rivers prone to rapid rises.

A flash flood watch means flash flooding is possible in or near the watch area. Residents in the watch area are urged to have a plan in the event flash flooding occurs and to stay informed about the latest weather developments.
