SAN ANTONIO -

According to USA Today, last year the Tallahassee Police Department received a complaint of sexual battery against Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston.

No charges have been filed against Winston and the case remains active.

An attorney for the potential Heisman Trophy candidate denies the allegations.

"This case has been going on for over a year. The case was basically closed and we're not sure why it's opened up," attorney Tim Jansen said. "We've been cooperating with the law enforcement agencies and we're hoping to get a quick resolution in favor of Mr. Winston."

Florida State released a statement today saying that Winston's status with the football team has not changed.
