Former SA TV news anchor Fred Lozano dies

SAN ANTONIO – Former San Antonio TV news anchor Fred Lozano has died at the age of 67.

According to KENS 5.com, Lozano's wife said the veteran newsman had been battling leukemia for the past year and a half.

Lozano was on the air for nearly 40 years in SA. He started his career in 1977 at KENS 5 and also worked at WOAI-TV. He retired in 2012 from KENS.

A private memorial service and funeral is planned.
