Former Texas Longhorns star Ricky Williams arrested on warrants

Williams arrested Tuesday on traffic warrants in south Austin

AUSTIN, Texas – Former Texas Longhorns star running back Ricky Williams was arrested in Austin on Tuesday on traffic warrants, according to a report.

The Austin-American Statesman reported Williams was arrested in South Austin after he was pulled over for a traffic offense.

Williams was taken to the Travis County jail, but the Statesman reported he was no longer there as of Thursday.

Williams starred at Texas in the late '90s and won the Heisman Trophy in 1998.

He played 11 seasons in the NFL and is currently a TV analyst for the Longhorn Network.

Williams was also an assistant coach for the University of the Incarnate Word football team in 2013-14.
