Four months after his death, George the duck was returned to his home on the River Walk.

George’s remains, a plaque and a poem titled “Sweet George” were presented to the Original Mexican restaurant in honor of the duck, who had been a favorite of the guests.

Volunteers with the Justice for George group gave a brief ceremony and blessing for the remaining animals on the river walk.

George was killed back on May 29. He was beaten and strangled by two men, then thrown into the river.

A $15,000 reward is being offered for anyone with information on the individuals behind her death.
