SAN ANTONIO -

A Good Samaritan was stabbed Thursday evening after San Antonio police said he attempted to help someone being attacked by two other men.

The incident occurred north of downtown San Antonio just after 5 p.m. near the corner of Dallas Street and Richmond Avenue.  

According to police, two homeless men were beating another man when the Good Samaritan intervened and was stabbed in the back.

The Good Samaritan was transported to University Hospital, but was expected to recover, police said. One man was taken into custody.
