H-E-B donates $2 million to Morgan's Wonderland for ultra-accessible splash park

Santa visits children at Respite Daycare, Academy at Morgan's Wonderland

SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B donated $2 million Thursday to Morgan's Wonderland as an early Christmas gift.

Santa visited the children at Respite Daycare and the Academy at Morgan's Wonderland, where he took pictures, did crafts and presented the park with the donation from H-E-B.

Morgan's Wonderland, a theme park that was opened in 2010 to allow people with special needs to have fun for free, is completely wheelchair accessible and includes rides, playgrounds and other attractions.

Julie Bedingfield, an H-E-B representative, said the $2 million gift will be used for the world's first ultra-accessible splash park, Inspiration Island.

"We think the work that Morgan's Wonderland does to serve a population that brings joy to a lot of children in the city of San Antonio is completely worthy of a $2 million gift from H-E-B, so we're just happy that we're able to do it," Bedingfield said.
