SAN ANTONIO -

A hit and run driver ran down a man in a wheelchair as he tried to cross a westside street.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Friday near Guadalupe and S. Murry.

Police say a homeless man in a wheelchair crossed the street when a driver in a Ford Ranger hit him and then took off.

The man was thrown from his wheelchair.

EMS transported him to Downtown Baptist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officials are looking for the driver of the truck.
