HELOTES, Texas -

Members of a Helotes church are doing their part to help their fellow congregation in Oklahoma following a devastating tornado.
Life Point Church held a collection drive Thursday on behalf of tornado victims in Shawnee, Okla.
"They had a tornado there before the one that hit Moore, so it hasn't had a lot of publicity," said lead pastor Danny Rivers.
Rivers said the effort began with church members Kevin and Cat Hyland, who initially were going to take a U-Haul with donations.
But Rivers said generous donations are filling an 18-wheeler in the parking lot of the 4-H Ag Center, where the congregation meets.
The pastor said the truck will be leaving Friday for Shawnee, where the items will be delivered to the Life Point ministry there.
Rivers said they will remain on-site across from O'Connor High School on Leslie Road off Bandera Road until 7 p.m. or later, if necessary.
Items needed include hygiene products and diapers to flashlights, batteries and shovels.
