Kerrville police Officer Paul Gonzales said despite the cold and sometimes treacherous weather, the city has so far faired well.

"The road conditions have been pretty moderate, as far as ice or any other type of conditions that is related to the ice," said Gonzales.

Nonetheless, city crews and Texas Department of Transportation crews will continue to watch for slick spots.

Gonzales said driving recklessly will not be tolerated.

"The Holiday Parade is tomorrow (and we're asking) people who are out commuting to be very cautious," he said. "We want to prevent collisions from occurring."

The Kerrville Holiday Parade is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday.
