Holiday shopping spree held for deserving families

SAN ANTONIO – On Thursday, toy aisles at the McCreeless Market H-E-B Plus! on South New Braunfels Avenue were filled with the excitement of the holiday season as children from H.I.S. BridgeBuilders, Daughters of Charity Services of San Antonio and Inman Christian Center steered their shopping carts down each aisle, gathering as many toys as they could during the shopping spree, a news release said.

H-E-B will donate all items collected during the shopping spree to H.I.S. BridgeBuilders, Daughters of Charity Services of San Antonio and Inman Christian Center in hopes of providing a happier holiday to deserving families from at-risk communities the release said.

"We set up our toy department and we let the kids have free reign on the toy aisles. so they go up and down, we help them fill up the empty baskets once they filled one. and so we're just thankful that we have kids from his Bridge Builders, Inman Center, and Daughters of Charity to shop and bring them back to the kids from the nonprofits." Julie Bedingfield, H-E-B spokesperson said.
