Hospital reportedly under lockdown after reports of bald man with gun

HOUSTON – Ben Taub Hospital in Houston was locked down Tuesday amid reports of a shooting, sources said to KPRC-TV in Houston.

Houston police confirmed that about 2 p.m. they received reports of shots being fired inside the hospital. Just before 3:30 p.m. Police Chief Art Acevedo said they found no evidence of shooting, no victims, nor a suspect.

Acevedo said officers searched every floor and the basement of the hospital and they were preparing to conduct a second search of the facility.

Video shows patients being wheeled out of the hospital, which a Level 1 trauma center with 400-plus beds.

Police said that SWAT officers were being dispatched to the scene.

A spokesman for the hospital said the "Code White," which is the code for an active shooter, was issued but the incident does not appear to be ongoing.

Sources close to KPRC Channel 2 confirmed that the facility was placed on lockdown.
