CONVERSE, Texas – Judson High School is asking some students to return their 2016 yearbooks.
The recall comes after school administrators discovered a big mistake. The yearly memento features former teacher Jared Anderson, who was arrested in mid-March and accused of having sex parties with teenage boys.
Anderson was also charged with indecency with a child and sexual performance of a child.
"This particular employee was terminated because of his behavior, and so as a result we took action to take that particular page out of the yearbook before it went to print. We told the vendor that and paid for that particular change," said Judson ISD spokesman Steve Linscomb.
The yearbook vendor accepted responsibility for the mistake. It also agreed to fix the problem at no cost.
"At the time that we discovered this problem, we had distributed about 258 copies of yearbooks. We don't know how many of the bad copies were sent out," Linscomb said.
Linscomb said at least 37 yearbooks have been returned by students so far.
"It's a big memento to students about that particular year, and you want it to turn out right," Linscomb said.
